The Annual General Meeting of the Bulgarian Web Association was held on 2nd December, 2008. The meeting was attended by 27 companies, full and associate members of the Association. The agenda of the General Assembly included the adoption of the report for 2008 and Working program of the Bulgarian Web Association in 2009. Both documents were presented by the Chairman of the Board Dimitar Ganev.

In 2008 BWA carried out several important projects: The International Web Festival Albena 2008, the catalog "Bulgarian Web Industry 2008” and the heading “Expert advice” in .NET magazine. The Board of BWA held several meetings with representatives of state institutions and NGOs to create partnerships and to present the interests of the web industry.

Key priorities in BWA activities set out in its program for 2009 will be: institutional strengthening of the association by improving internal communication, organizing BWA’s own professional Web Awards competition, developing a project of Bulgarian Web Index which will establish a certification register for Bulgarian Internet sites.

Participants in the General Assembly discussed proposals for a weekly electronic newsletter of the Association, organisation of seminars and training courses for specialists from the industry, conducting market studies and other initiatives aiming to improve the business environment and expand cooperation between companies, members of the Association.
