About Us

The Board of Directors governs and represents the Bulgarian Web Association (BWA). The seven members of the Board are elected for a two-year period and they have to be connected or to be representatives of the full-right BWA members. The Chairman of the Board is being elected for a two-year period to represent the Bulgarian Web Association and the Board of Directors.

Education

Dora Vassileva has a master's degree in Economics and specializes in arts management and cultural administration. Marketing, Internet and Design are the primary focus of her professional interests and development.

Career and implemented projects

In the past ten years Dora Vassileva has obtained considerable managerial experience in successful projects in a variety of areas such as web design, search engine optimization and online marketing, marketing management, project management, fund management etc.
Between 2005 and 2007 she was responsible for the overall design and development of the entire set of online marketing services at Ladger - an IT company specializing in business analyses, design and development of web-based software applications.
Following the completion of dozens of successfully implemented online campaigns for national and international clients from a variety of sectors, Ms. Vassileva created the online interactive agency Calipers JSC as a spin-out business of Ladger.
Creative solutions, web applications, internet marketing, online advertising, web-based PR and consultancy are just some of the services which have positioned Calipers as one of the fastest growing online marketing agencies on the national market. The company has also received numerous awards from both national and international competitions for web design and online marketing campaigns. The leading organizations from a wide range of fields have entrusted Calipers with the development of their corporate or product identity, general online presence and web advertising. Amongst them are KAI Group, Nestle Bulgaria, VUZF, Blagoevgrad BT, the Bulgarian Business Angels Network, Dedrax, Majestic Hotel & Residence, Capman Financial Group, TBI Asset Management, Energo-Pro, AII Data Processing and many more. Calipers’ strategy is based on the professionalism of the expanding team, on detailed study of the business, competition and objectives of customers, on implementing state of the art technologies and approaches in web and on a strong commitment to a socially responsible business development.
As a representative of the leading professional organization for web technologies and the online market in Bulgaria (BWA) Ms. Dora Vassileva is also part of the Advisory committee at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, which primary objective is to assist the Ministry and its managerial team by providing analyses, statements and strategic documents in the field of electronic messaging and telecommunications, postal services, information society and e-governance.
Dora Vassileva has been an active member of the Jury presiding the international awards of the Web Marketing Association.
Currently Ms. Vassileva acts as a CEO of Calipers JSC and as a Marketing Manager for Ladger. In 2009 she was elected Chairwoman of the Bulgarian Web Association.

Education

Boril Karaivanov comes from a design background. He graduated from National Academy of Art in Sofia, subject: „Books and graphic design“.

Career and implemented projects

During his study and till the year of 1997 he had worked as a self-employed artist with a few publishing houses in the field of the books design. Between the years of 1997 and 2000 he had worked as a graphic designer in the field of advertizing and graphic design in some advertizing agencies. In 2000 he co-founded the studio for graphic design „Glif“, where he had worked till the year of 2002.
In 2001 he started to work for BSH (Bulgarian Software House) where he founded a design studio.
Today BSH, specialized in solutions and services based on Microsoft technologies, operates on the markets of more that 10 countries, mainly in Europe.
As a design director Boril Karaivanov is a man, who had already created many Bulgarian web sites. In addition he takes part, is a member of jury, and wins many prizes for web design. He is an active lector and author of many publications in the field of graphic identity, Web interaction and applying of effective design strategies in the contemporary business communications.

Career and implemented projects

Vladimir Petkov works as a Director “Products and Operations”, Economedia. He is in charge of projects as Dnevnik.bg, Capital.bg and Karieri.bg. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of Media Art Center InterSpace and Cult.bg Foundation.
He took part in many projects as “GNOME in Bulgarian”, NGO-in-a-BOX and many others.

Education

Kiril Apostolov comes from a design background. He worked for various employers while studying at the Academy of Arts in Sofia.

Career and implemented projects

In 1998 Kiril Apostolov set up Mag Studio. The company grew and expanded with the growth of the Internet. It is currently one of the biggest Bulgarian owned web design companies.  Mag Studio’s clients are some of the biggest Bulgarian companies, such as Vivacom, Bulgarian National Bank, United Bulgarian Bank, Bulgarian National Television and others.
Mag Studio aims to be the leader on the Bulgarian market and in time to turn into a major European company, serving the global web market.

Education

Luidmil Kardzilov is a Journalism graduate from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He has a specialization in Radio Management from Germany, Holland and USA.

Career and implemented projects

Since 1993 he has worked in Darik Radio as a News Reader, Editor-in-Chief of News Department and Deputy Editor-in-chief.
In 2005 he become a Manager and Editor-in-chief of Darik Web, the company of Darik, which develops internet projects - dariknews.bg, gong.bg, album.bg, lex.bg, lev.bg, darikfinance.bg, vremeto.bg, signal.bg, zar.bg, ma4.bg, log.bg, etc.
DarikWeb is one of the biggest internet publishers in Bulgaria with over of 1400 mln. readers monthly.

Education

Ivo Krustev is a Technical University - Sofia graduate, subject „Electronic engineering and microelectronics”.

Career and implemented projects

Between 1994 and 2003 he had worked for one of the biggest cable operators in Sofia – Evrotur SAT TV, renamed later on ECT NET, as a Chief mechanic, District manager and Executive Director.
In 2004 he founded Enigma Technology Company, which develops specialized web sites. Among them the category Вuilding and furnishing is the leader with the developed web sites - comfort.bg, bgstroitel.com, novatasofia.com. Enigma Technology has developed web projects as well in the categories - TV, tourism, e-trade, as well as many web sites and software for outside customers. During that time Ivo Krustev is a lector in New Bulgarian University, subject „E-business” and periodically he leads seminars in front corporative customers on different aspects of the internet marketing.

Education

Metodi Drenovski graduated from Sofia from University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, subject Information technologies.

Career and implemented projects

His professional career in the field of Information technologies started more than 15 years ago. Under different Bulgarian and international projects he worked on effectiveness improvement of different web sites for electronic trade, using innovative technologies. His professional development continued with banks’ software development and improvement for several big international banks. In 2005 Metodi Drenovski set up the biggest hosting company in Bulgaria – SuperHosting.bg, which gradually strengthened its position as the most reliable company, provided hosting services. Today Metodi Drenovski continues to work actively on the development and improvement of the hosting services of the company.
